The Children's Liturgy program is currently run by Cathy Van Raamsdonk, a parishioner and ICS parent. It is offered during selected 10 am Sunday Masses, 2-3 times per month. Children are invited to come to the Liturgy just before the first reading and return to their seats at the end of the homily. In their own space, children around the ages of 3 to 7 learn about Jesus with the use of the Pflaum "Seeds" program, which provides a colorful and engaging activity booklet for each particular Sunday's Gospel reading. During the Children's Liturgy, the Gospel message is taught through story-telling, discussion, prayer, and Seeds activities, at a level young children can understand and enjoy.
Although parent participation is not required, it is helpful when parents attend the Children's Liturgy with their child. Any parent who would like to volunteer to assist the Children's Liturgy program or become a teacher can contact Cathy (778-686-2568). The Pflaum "Seeds" program makes it easy as lessons are already planned!
